Crozier is honored to support the preservation and presentation of cultural artifacts that can unite our collective imagination. Most recently, our team had the privilege of installing a striking piece of contemporary film history at the Motion Picture Association (MPA): one of the magnificent costumes worn by Denzel Washington as emperor Macrinus in Gladiator II (Paramount Pictures, 2024).

Designed by Academy Award–winning costume designer Janty Yates alongside David Crossman, the robe is more than a garment, it's an emblem of power and status within the film.

Showcasing costumes of this caliber underscores the importance of movie wardrobing as both an art form and a record of cinematic storytelling. It’s important to safeguard these modern designs that show the creativity and technical mastery needed to produce accurate historical garments that also support the film’s narrative.

Displays like this at the MPA showcase tangible artistry that supports epic filmmaking. For Crozier, ensuring the safe installation and presentation of such a piece is part of our commitment to protecting the integrity of cultural showpieces, whether housed in museums, archives, or institutions that celebrate the arts.

We are proud to have played a role in bringing this costume to its new stage, where it now stands as both a testament to contemporary cinema and a reminder of the enduring power of material culture.
