Frieze and Crozier have announced a new partnership focused on driving measurable carbon and cost savings for exhibiting galleries.

“We’re delighted to welcome Crozier as an official shipping partner of our US and Europe-based fairs. Their commitment to advancing sustainability standards across art logistics, combined with practical support for galleries, aligns closely with Frieze’s mission to help strengthen the wider arts ecosystem.”
Romilly Stebbings, Director of Business Development and Head of the Sustainability Team, Frieze, Active Member of Gallery Climate Coalition

With galleries facing complex international logistics, rising costs and increasing sustainability expectations, the partnership offers financial incentives for early booking, enabling route optimisation, shipment consolidation and reduced reliance on high-emission transport. Exhibitors will also gain access to carbon data insights to support more informed, climate-conscious decision-making.

“Partnering with Frieze allows us to build a stronger understanding of how we can innovate and inspire meaningful climate action across the art fair ecosystem.”
James Hendy, SVP, Crozier

In 2025, Crozier partnered with decarbonization experts Thornton Tomasetti to better understand and reduce embodied and operational carbon across fine art logistics operations. This resulted in developing a proprietary tool that helps clients understand the real-time carbon impact of specific routes, measuring and comparing the impact for maximum consolidation, exclusive use, or last-minute air freight.

Pawel Woelke, Senior Principal, Thornton Tomasetti, added: “By consolidating shipping through early contracting and decision making, there can be a notable reduction in overall emissions.”

Crozier and Thornton Tomasetti will host educational webinars for exhibitors seeking to reduce their carbon footprint.

As noted in a recent stocktake report by Gallery Climate Coalition, art fairs represent a powerful leverage point in the commercial art ecosystem, where shared freight policies and transparent reporting can shift industry standards at scale.
