Fralin Visionaries is The Fralin Museum of Art at UVA’s new art acquisitions circle, launched in partnership with Crozier and celebrating The Fralin’s 90th Anniversary year.
Designed to enhance art education and provide behind-the-scenes art world experiences to alumni, collectors, and art lovers of all ages, the program brings together a dynamic community to shape the future of The Fralin and arts at UVA.
“As we launch Fralin Visionaries, we’re thrilled to partner with Crozier not only as a sponsor, but as a thought leader in the field of art stewardship. Their commitment to sharing expertise around collecting, conservation, and the care of artworks adds tremendous value to our members’ experience. Through this collaboration, Visionaries will gain deeper insight into the art world, from acquisition to preservation, and become even more empowered advocates for the museum’s mission.” Karen Milbourne, J. Sanford Miller Family Director, The Fralin Museum of Art at UVA.
The expanded partnership enables specialized educational programming around art stewardship and collecting, empowering members to engage more deeply with the art world and the museum’s mission.
Crozier team members James Hendy, Johan Kritzinger and Lane Nevares recently joined Fralin Visionaries at the Armory show in New York for a tour hosted by Karen Milbourne and Fralin’s Curator of Collections, Kristen Nassif.

“Crozier’s sponsorship of Fralin Visionaries reflects a shared belief in the transformative power of art and the importance of building lasting cultural legacies. It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with such a dynamic and knowledgeable group and I'm excited for what the future holds.” James Hendy, General Manager of Crozier
Each year, The Fralin’s curators and leadership propose artworks for acquisition, and Visionaries vote on the selections. Members also enjoy insider access to the museum’s curatorial process, exclusive events, and tailored experiences.
On September 3, 2025, The Fralin museum announced the acquisition of a new work by Alison Saar. Mutiny of the Sable Venus (2024) is now on view in the museum’s Joseph and Robert Cornell Memorial Foundation Entrance Gallery.
