Last month Crozier had the pleasure of hosting the Parrish Art Museum’s Teen Council at our Westhampton, New York, facility for a ‘behind the scenes’ look at how to expertly care for art. Local artist Eric Fischl kindly provided artwork for our art handlers to demonstrate how to safely unpack and hang art in one of the viewing rooms. The Parrish Art Museum’s Teen Council is a paid opportunity for local high school students to explore art, learn about future careers, develop leadership skills, and create programming in the museum—making it possible to earn while learning and contributing after school.

Kevin Thompson, Director of Marketing and Technology, Crozier comments, “It was fantastic to see the next generation’s enthusiasm for art preservation and a fitting way to begin Crozier’s expanded partnership with the Parrish Art Museum.”

Crozier and the Parrish Art Museum have collaborated for two decades on exhibitions including KAWS: TIME OFF and the recently opened Sean Scully exhibition.

“Crozier’s art-handling professionals have played an important role in many of the Parrish’s exhibitions—providing expert care for artworks coming to the Parrish for display. During their visit, Teen Council members learned directly from Crozier’s team about careers in art logistics. Museums like the Parrish depend on this behind-the-scenes expertise to produce the best exhibitions possible. We hope this partnership helps inspire the next generation of professionals who protect, move, and care for the cultural treasures that bring people together and, in doing so, fulfill our mission of serving our communities.” said Mónica Ramírez-Montagut, Executive Director, Parrish Art Museum.
